Southern Oregon University is on a 175 acre campus that is home to about 5,800 students from around the world. It is a four year university specializing in liberal arts and letters, sciences, social sciences, and business. Select graduate and professional programs are offered as well.

Southern Oregon University also has a three year accelerated degree program offered.
The University is designated as a Center of Excellence in the Fine Arts and Performing Arts. Also, the Center of Visual Arts has been recently opened in a complex on campus.

An Oregon Small Business Develpoment Center provides counseling and assistance to more than 450 southern Oregon businesses each year.

Southern Oregon University offers classes in Medford and Ashland, as well as distance learning programs throughout the state.
