Bandon Oregon - Oregon Information

Tide Pools

Bandon, Oregon has some of the best tide pools. Tide pools form in the rocky beach outcroppings. Tide pool dwellers must cope with changes to water temperatures. Seaweed, kelp, barnacles, sea urchins, and green anemone, covered by water only at high tide. Exposed to sun and air at low tide.

Specializing in hand raised wildlife. Over 450 exotic animals and birds live here. Check out the nursing of animals. Often time the handlers will let you up close enough to pet the babies. It was feeding time when we go there in the morning. All the babies were getting fed on the baby bottle. Two Black Bear cubs about 4 months old, 1 Three month old Bengal Tiger, and One leopard only one month old. We watched, listened, and petted all of them. What a rare treat to be able to do that.
