Originating within Crater Lake National Park, the Rogue River twists and turns through narrow gorges and steep mountains as it winds its way to the coast at Gold Beach, Oregon.
The most famous section of the Rogue River is the 250 foot cliffs at Hellgate Canyon. One of the most famous movies starring Robert Redford and Paul Newman called "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid" had scenes shot here.
The Hellgate Canyon can be seen on the Merlin-Galice Road at exit 61 off I-5.
