Roseburg Oregon and Umpqua River - Southern Oregon Attractions

Roseburg locals hang out in the summer at Ben Irving reservoir on the South Umpqua River. If you like to water ski or jet ski, check it out.

The Umpqua River itself is a nice tourist attraction. The North Umpqua near Steamboat hosts a dry fly/barbless hook reserve that is as close to perfect fly fishing as you will find anywere in the world.
Guided trips are available.

The main Umpqua between Roseburg and the coast is also a popular steelhead and sport salmon fishing river.

Just south of Roseburg at Winston is the Wildlife Safari, a drive-through game park and reserve where many exotic and rare species of animals live. You can pet a cheetah and see a zebra. In the summer, try to hit the park early in the morning or late in the day. Around noon all you will see are a bunch of snoozing animals. No pets allowed, but kennels are available.
